The Aotearoa NZ Team’s collaboration in action:
Purpose:
To support schools to implement NZ Histories and Localised Curriculum within their school.
Goals:
Provide guidance to create their own curriculum, with supporting resource ideas, if needed.
Create a procedure for interacting with tangata whenua.
Create a resource of local songs and karakia.
Actions:
Common karakia and waiata across schools in the district for local events and transitioning between schools
Authentic local stories - keeping our history alive and creating stronger connections for turangawaiwai
Collating Aotearoa New Zealand histories resources and ideas digitally accessible

An amazing local CHB resource!
It's 2022 and our stunning Ngā Ara Tipuna history trail is more than ready for you and your whānau to explore! Telling the stories of our first peoples going back 400 years, and capturing the memories of our people of today. Grab your smart phone and scan QR codes on site to link to videos describing how our tipuna lived and what their natural world would have looked like, through to the experiences of those who grew up in the rohe in the more recent past. There are storyboards, beautiful artwork, recreations of original features, and stunning views. It's free and there's something for everyone! Science in Schools
Ian Shepherd is a science teacher at CHBC College. He is keen to be involved with the design of Science in the curriculum from ECE to Year 13 and would be keen to participate in whatever way possible. He is eager to visit schools and work with staff to develop ideas.

Cultural Responsiveness RōPū 2022
The Cultural Responsiveness Team collaboration in action:
Purpose:
Improving equity and culturally responsive pedagogy for priority learners in CHB.
Goals / Actions:
Provide guidance to support access to support resources.
Facilitate workshops that support teachers and provide guidance with intentional actions for improving culturally responsive practice.
Build on 2021 workshop.
Establish a discussion forum for teachers to raise questions and seek responses and successful solutions from within our teacher community and from wider community contributors.
Support the facilitation of a cultural audit within individual schools and the analysis of findings to support strategic plan development.
